Fashion designers are professionals who design clothes and design apparel. Some fashion designers, clothing designers and apparel designers design high-end fashions, high-end clothing and high-end apparel. Other fashion designers mostly design affordable clothing, affordable fashions and affordable apparel. Some fashion designers specialize in designing women's fashions while others specialize in designing children's apparel or men's clothing. Some fashion designers specialize in designing certain articles of clothing, such as a designer that mostly designs swimwear. Some fashion designers also design accessories such as handbags, shoes and hats. Some fashion designers also put out lines of fragrances. Often fashion designers will lend their names to lines of apparel. Some fashion designers work for clothing brands, clothing manufacturers or clothing stores.
